PIA Insurance Services, Inc. is a separate, wholly-owned for-profit subsidiary corporation of the PIAVA/DC organized on January 1, 2007. The mission of PIA Insurance Services, Inc. is to provide a variety of the business services of an insurance agency, and ancillary insurance services, to insurance agents in Virginia and DC. To fulfill its mission, PIAIS Inc. offers a select group of insurance products and services that PIAVA/DC members have indicated are useful, cost-effective and needed for their agencies to be profitable. These products and services include insurance products that members can use to limit risk, protect assets and improve their agency's efficiency and their employees' productivity.
NEW - As of September 9, 2009, PIA Insurance Services, Inc. has also developed three strategic alliances in the area of Life, LTC, Group Health, Annuities and Personal Supplemental & Worksite insurance product sales that are designed to help your agency earn more revenue now with limited effort. These new PIAIS Access Programs can help you stop losing money by turning away your good P&C clients who ask you for Life, Health, Personal Supplemental and other non-P&C insurance products. E&O Insurance
Professional Liability (E&O) insurance provides insurance agents protection against claims that the agent becomes legally obligated to pay as a result of an error or omission in his/her professional work, as well as defense costs regardless of whether the agency is at fault. Umbrella Liability Insurance
Umbrella Liability provides additional coverage when the limits of insurance on an underlying policy are exceeded. For instance, if your agency has $1,000,000 coverage under your E&O policy and you have a claim settlement for $1,500,000, the umbrella policy would pick up the additional amount. Umbrella Liability policies also add coverage to General Liability, Hired and Non-owned Auto Liability, and Employer's Liability for a single premium, and applies to your E&O policy as well.
