FREE membership in 2010 for Young Professionals (age 45 and under)

Times are tough and getting tougher for agents. PIAVA/DC is responding with direct assistance. Not only has PIA frozen its annual membership dues for calendar year 2010, but now PIA has a new free membership program for you to consider. As part of its ongoing effort to do more to encourage active involvement in your association by more younger agents, PIAVA/DC Board leaders have authorized a new free PIA membership program for young agents, (age 45 years and younger) in calendar year 2010, from any existing PIA member agency or company.

To qualify for PIA’s free 2010 young agent membership program, you must:

1) Be employed at a PIA member agency or carrier member where there is already one member;
2) Prove you are 45 years old or younger;
3) Have not been a PIA member in the last three (3) calendar years;
4) Complete the PIA Membership Application in full and return it to PIAVA/DC.

Your free young agent membership(s) - an $85/year value for agencies and a $125/year value for carriers - will extend throughout calendar year 2009 for all new young agents. PIA membership provides participating young professionals access to all PIAVA/DC membership benefits, discounts, publications and services, (available at www.piavadc.com) including immediate membership on PIA’s Young Professionals Council (YPC) Committee.

There is no limit to the number of young professionals, at any one agency or carrier location, who can participate as long as they meet the above criteria. All agents and carrier reps age 45 and younger are welcome at PIAVA/DC.

PIA also encourages its new young professional members to seriously consider participation in any one of PIA’s 11 other working committees. A complete list of PIA working committees, and the committee chairs, is attached. The professional networking opportunities of PIA committee involvement (even though many committee meetings are conducted by conference call) are significant, as are the opportunities to attend the PIA Convention and Trade Fair, PIA Education classes, and other activities when taking advantage of PIA’s YPC-age member discounts. On your Membership Application, please indicate which PIA committee(s) you may be interested in participating on.
